“A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.” – Oliver Wendell Holmes
I love doing touristy things, walking around snapping, taking on all the hyped and not hyped about activities. I think it is because I do not like routine or staying in one place for a long period of time. I get bored. I long for adventure and exploration.
I visited Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens towards to end of last year and was blown away by the fact that they dedicated this much space to the growth of flora & fauna. Don’t get me wrong the Entebbe Botanical Gardens were something, but maybe it’s because most of the time was spent on celebrating birthdays there as opposed to the vegetation. Back to the matter though, we walked for hours exploring the land ( I sound like John Speke) & were still not able to go through all of its 1,300 acres.
If you find yourself in Cape Town with some time to kill, visit the gardens for a picnic or just to learn about the flora, and take in the beautiful scenery. Enjoy the photo diary 🙂
