For those that have braved and shopped, ordered and have had “the goods” delivered abroad – and by abroad, I am referring to you lot that clicks excitedly on the blinking banner that says”Free shipping worldwide” – you could sit back and reminisce as I re-enact an experience you might have gone through, or maybe not. If you do not fall into the above group, I want to share my online shopping experience and how you too can get in on the action.
Storytime: a few Saturday’s ago, I was chatting with a friend when I brought up the subject of the possibilities of shopping online. She told me she was an online shopping maven and had just gotten something shipped in a few months ago. Just that confirmation from her sent bulbs in my head going crazy. Quickly I searched ASOS, found a few things and paid for them.
Come Monday, ASOS sent me the usual email, your “goods” are on the way. Before I knew it, aka 4 days later my package was in the country. I thought that was rad, took less than the usual 9 days (good form ASOS). There was a little drama with the package being taken by someone from the airport when it got here, but I am sure that is not the normal way things are done.
Ok, so you want to shop online with all the above in mind? Here is what you need:
- Make sure you have an address i.e. P.O. Box number that the “goods” will be delivered to. Packages are usually sent to the post office unless you use a courier company like DHL, Skynet and the like
- Make sure all your details (card & shipping) are correct. Any mistakes and it could take you 28 days to rectify
- Make sure you take your time shopping. It could take a short time to be delivered, but you will have 28 days to send the package back and will have to also pay shipping charges
Well, that’s that. Let me know in case you have any questions on it, please remember I will answer from my experience of things.
Peace & love.x
