Keg & dhow

From the title of the post you pick up two things, we are going to be discussing a backbone of malts and there is something South African here. Were you on track? If not my dear friend, fret not I will be a gentle guide.

Keg & Dhow is a fairly new pub that’s opened up here in Dar es Salaam on Haile Selassie road (has some good bars and restaurants). I had not been before till earlier this week when a friend’s birthday was up. Due to everybody’s tight schedule, we decided on Keg to drown our day’s efforts with well-deserved cool, crisp and liquid refreshments.

Built for guests, as they say, the pub is cozy for an intimate gathering with friends and has the best wait staff that is prompt with the drinks’ and food menu. Dinner for who, we were fixated on getting some good cocktails of which the pub is famous.

Being early in the week, it was not packed to max but I reckon for example on a Friday night, it transforms to something out of the Coyote Ugly movie. Cocktails arrived and I will say, they are quite generous (even for me) with their alcohol. That works for some people, but I found that one drink would last me all night.

With light music and a spacious venue, I will say this is a great place for those that do not like going out but go out for a few hours if you know what I mean; mom’s night out or a good catch up night with a few friends, as it closes around midnight.

Cake cut and all the laughs of the evening, I will say I thoroughly enjoyed myself and plan on making another stop sometime in the future, possibly during the week (don’t judge me.)

Have you been to Keg & Dhow? What was your experience? Do let me know in the comments below. But for now…

Peace & Love.xx
