The week that was: SFW2014

Swahili Fashion Week

I don’t know why I never considered attending Fashion Week while in London. Seriously for all fashion lovers, its the most exciting event of the annual calendar…but I am sure y’all know better than I did, till recently.

I had the advantage of attending this year’s Swahili Fashion Week here in Dar es Salaam. To be honest, I didn’t know what to expect, which is always a good place to be with hopes. Too high and you could be disappointed, too low and…and…who has low expectations??

Anywho, day 1 was obv exciting and as the show kept going I was ecstatic and looking forward to what the rest of the days had. Some of the Designers I thoroughly enjoyed were Boke Chacha’s Kiarasheba Collection. I think I would wear everything from that collection.

Day 2 went by like a breeze. Jamilla Vera swai & Kiki’s Fashion were by far my favorite shows of the night. Gosh, other collections I would grab in a heartbeat.

Unfortunately, the final day had the disorganization I didn’t expect an event that has been in place for 7 years to have. However, the men’s collection and a few made up for any mishaps made. Martin Kadinda, Innocent Dorkenoo from Ghana and Palse from South Africa were a feast for the eyes.

I also got to meet Supermodel Herieth Paul. Gosh she is such a lovely lady..**swoon**
