Home Decor 101: Lighting

Home decor

Lately, I have been thinking about how to spruce up my apartment and personalizing it, make it homey enough without breaking the bank. Light bulb moment {literally} I thought why don’t I switch up the lighting :)?

I personally think that lighting plays a somewhat big role in the appearance of a room, no? Too much makes it look like you’re outside while too dark makes it look creepy :/. The right amount though, makes it more intimate and comfortable for guests or yourself to relax.

I have had a thang for lights in the past. My first ever were really dainty stars from Amazon but since everyone questioned why I had “Christmas” lights {no, they are fairy lights}, I decided to switch it up and found the most amazing heart shaped lights in Primarnie.

In case you are not able to get fairy lights, go for the usual candles. It is amazing what these can do. I got mine again from Primark but I feel like burning them is such a luxury because once they are out, I will not be able to get them. Those that have used these candles know what I am on about. Its pretty cool that for just 4 quid, £3.50 to be exact, they give off a really strong scent that lingers in the room for hours. What’s also great is once they are burnt out, the tins can be used for storage…double win!

Mr Price here in Tanzania would be another option to check out for great scented candles. Let me know in the comments below if you are doing home improvements and have incorporated lights.
